Sarba Purta (Construction) Pvt. Ltd. was framed on 22nd February, 1966 at Kolkata by Mr. S.S. Gangopadhyay, an eminent civil engineer of his era and a President’s gold medalist in his sphere, with some of his friends and associates who were also very good in this field. Mr. S.B. Gangopadhyay, son of Mr. S.S. Gangopadhyay after joining the company in 1974 has taken the company to a new level and gradually the name ‘SPC’ or “Sarba Purta” became a well-known firm who are thought to be specialist in the fields of water treatment, intake wells, over head reservoirs, pumping stations and water supply.

Mr. S.K. Gangopadhyay, son of Mr. S.B. Gangopadhyay has also joined the company as a director in 2006 and in the last fifteen years the company has grown in leaps and bounces. In last 15 years, Sarba Purta has designed and commissioned about 60% of the Water treatment plants of Chhattisgarh.The company has graduated to becoming one of the leading players in Public Health Engineering field in Chhattisgarh and has started working in zones like Korba and Durg/ Bhilai, which resulted in bigger and more prestigious jobs. The company has successfully commissioned 32MLD capacity W.T. Plant at Korba in 2013. The real feather in its cap has been the successful commissioning of fully Automated 42MLD capacity W.T. Plant at Durg and its 12 M Dia Intake well at River Shivnath. The company has even received a certificate of excellence from Mayor, Durg, which was handed over by none other than respected Chief Minister of the state, Dr. Raman Singh on 7th of Feb, 2016.

From 2016 onwards, the company has also ventured into some new projects in different states of East and Central India. Sambalpur and Barpaliprojects were completed in Orrissa with a private participation in 2019. In the same year the company entered Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam Projects in Joint Venture to bag a total Water Supply Scheme in Dhar District.

Finally, also in 2019 the company took a leap into next level of corporate world by getting awarded with Chakradharpur W.T.P. by JUSCO LTD, a TATA group subsidiary, which we are sure to open new horizons for the company in near future.
